Street Light Out?
Recently, the City of Fountain Valley acquired the streetlights from Southern California Edison (SCE) to convert the streetlights to LED lighting in order to reduce costs, and provide better lighting, to enhance safety on streets in the community.

There are both economic and safety benefits of LED street lighting. LEDs are much more energy efficient and have a longer life span than traditional lights. Higher quality of light increases safety and reduces crime. In addition to providing for safer streets, they have sturdier lenses, not glasses, making them much more resistant to breakage. It has been proven that cities that have converted to LED lighting have improved safety and have resulted in lower energy consumption and operating costs. These economic benefits translate into a lower carbon footprint, which help to address requirements for cities to be more eco-friendly.

Have a Street Light Outage? Reporting a streetlight outage has never been easier! Residents can now report a streetlight outage online at www.fountainvalley.org. Simply click on the “How Do I...” link and click on “Report a Street Light Outage.” For additional information, please contact the Public Works Department at (714) 593-4433.

Social Security Administration Phone Scam Alert!
A new phone-scamming trend has been on the rise for the past few months. Individuals across counties have been receiving calls from subjects claiming to be officers of the Social Security Administrati on (SSA).

This trend is one that has affected several Fountain Valley residents over the course of several months. We've received word that residents are on the receiving end of a call that appear to have come from the FVPD's business line (714) 593-4485. Please be advised that subjects are masking themselves by using FVPD's business line in an attempt to gain personal information from residents. This is a scam and citizens are being told to refrain from providing personal information to anyone over the phone. Agencies such as the SSA or IRS will NOT call to request personal information over the phone.

If anyone receives a call from our business line and doubt the authenticity of the caller, they should request to call the number back to verify the agency.
